Summary

Bristol City Council organise and support a wide range of festivals and events for the enjoyment of local residents and visitors to the city.

Past events this year include Bristol’s Biggest Bike Ride, and the Bristol 10k race, St Paul’s Carnival and live screenings at Millenium Square.

There were 18 comments on the discussion about festivals and events.  Comments said that festivals and events are good for the city if they boost the local economy through bringing new visitors to the city.  There were comments about the Square Sessions music events in Queens Square during the summer being popular.  A couple of comments related to french markets that are incorporated into festivals such as the harbour festival, and that these should be markets for local produce instead.  There was also a comment asking for improved disability equality and accessibility at festivals and events.
